I have finished setting up the structure for tribotix.info - there is heaps of new info available now.
Megarobotic Users:- I've added the .hex files for the 17DOF Humanoid & 14DOF Dog, along with a pdf showing screen dumps of the required ATMega128 flag settings.
- I've also made the datasheets for the 4pin connectors used on the Megarobotic modules available.
This info can be viewed by Selecting the Megarobotic's tab from the Download page.
Robotis Users:
Robotis have recently released lots of new material, here is a summary of what's available:- A new module, the AX-64, is available (64kg.cm holding torque) - the datasheet is now available.
- Lots of new info for Bioloid uses:
- An English version the User Guide for the Zig-100 module is now available.
- A new CD has been released, this is available for download BUT this is 200Mb. To make it easier for those not wanting the entire CD I have extracted the important bits and made these available seperately.
- New Bioloid User Guide,
- The Bioloid Assembly Guide has been replaced by 2 documents - a Bioloid Quick Start (Beginners Kit) (22Mb) and a Bioloid Quick Start (Comprehensive Kit) (65Mb). The Begineers Kit Quick Start guide shows what can be done with 5 AX-12's and an AX-S1 whilst the Comprehensive Kit Quick Start Guide has assembly instructions for 26 different types of robots.
- For each of the 26 there are .bpg, .mtn and a .wmv file packaged in a .zip format - even .mtn file to make a Humanoid walk
. There is also a .txt file in the .zip that tells you what motion pages perform what function. - There is also a newer version of the CM-5 firmware, Bioloid_v114.hex.
This info can be viewed by Selecting the Robotis tab from the Download page.

The new product is RX-64, isn't it?
It seemed that the control method of RX-64 is similar to DX-117 .
Can RX-64 be used with DX-117 together? if we power the two kinds of actuators respectively.
By the way, How much is RX-64?

Yes.

Yes, the DX-117 and RX-64 both RS-485 and the same protocol so they can be placed on the same RS-485 network.

Haven't got around to adding this info on the web site yet - RX-64's will be approx. $USD265 - there are also frames/brackets available as well.

Peter, all the new instructions, programs, motion files, and robot files available from the new Bioloid CD are so incredible! My sincerest thanks for posting it. You rock. Because of you all my free time for the next few months will be taken up with experimenting with all the new Bioloid models. Knowing this, I hope you can find a way to live with yourself.
Also think the new tribotix.info section here in the forum is a good idea.

Hi Peter,
I'd like to download the whole CD, but I can't find the link.
The new demo videos are very cool but are a bit difficult for people (especially casual browsers) to access, what with having to download the example zip files and extract them. Would it be worth pulling the videos out of the zip files and posting them with the other videos?
Thanks again.

I'd like to download the whole CD too; I couldn't find the .mtn files and so forth for the 19 DOF humanoid on the website (just the 18 DOF humanoid).
Thanks,

| Ah, I see that the QuickStart (and presumably current versions of the kit) omits the waist joint so that there is no 19 DOF humanoid. Please ignore my post above.

Hi Steve,
Sorry, just saw your question.
I'd like to download the whole CD, but I can't find the link.
The link is at the top of the Downloads | Robotis.htm page - here is the link:
http://www.tribotix.info/Downloads/Robotis/Bioloid/Lastest_CD/Bioloid_CD(english).zip

Yes, I will do this when I get time .... two problems are time and server space. I need to convert wmv files to mov (my laptop doesn't like wmv's for some reason - don't you just love Windows ). I will do this ASAP.

Yes, Robotis have just told us they are changing the Bioloid Comprehensive kit so that there are 18 AX-12+'s. They have changed the top gear on the AX-12 to make it more durable and have thus created the new AX-12+ - see attached pdf.
With the 19DOF Humanoid, when we had problems this tended to be with the waist motor. I have a suspicion that the torque wasn't sufficient for the load it had to hold when moving the upper body - this is probably why they changed the config (but this is only my assumption).

Peter, thanks for the CD download link and for working on getting the movies converted and posted.
About the AX-12+, will there be an upgrade for those of us who have original AX-12's? Should be fairly simple to open them up, replace the top gear, and slap a new AX-12+ sticker on 'em.
